Because of your generous support, we have been able to
provide each of these student athletes with $3,500.00 scholarships for
college. The Earlis Family, Tom Aschoff and Bob Quercetti thank each and
every one of you for your contributions and generosity in support of our
efforts to keep Jimmy alive in our hearts.
Background
The Styk’s House party was originally held in
1994. For the first 3 years it was designed as an annual get together for
my friends from college. In January of 1997 one of my college roommates and
best friends', Jimmy, passed away. Shortly thereafter a scholarship was set
up at Jimmy’s alma mater in North Jersey, Old Tappan High School. The
scholarship is given to a senior who plays football, which Jimmy played and
loved, and exemplifies the model student (In 2003 a 2nd Scholarship was
added, and given to a Cheerleader). So in August of 1997 I held
Styk’s House IV, and decided to make the party a fund raiser, so all of the
money collected to pay for the party went to the scholarship fund. Since
then over the past 7 Styk’s House parties we have raised over $16,000.00 for
the fund.
P.S. - If
you click on Jimmy's picture you can see a larger version of him at my
wedding. You can tell how good a friend he was, by wearing the tux for me.
He bleeds Giant Blue.
